Gooseberry pickle நெல்லிக்காய் ஊறுகாய்

Gooseberry pickle is a spicy and healthy. Curd rice, lemon rice is the best combination of this pickle. Gooseberry, gingelly oil, red chilli powder, Asafoetida, mustard seed, fenugreek is the main ingredients of this pickle


INGREDIENTS :

200 gram Gooseberry
3 tsp of mustard seed
1/4 tsp of fenugreek
6-7 tsp of gingelly oil
Small pieces of asafoetida
2 tsp of red chilli powder
1 +1/4 tsp of salt
Water

Gooseberry boiling process:

  • Take a vessel

  • Pour the 2 cup of water and boil it

  • Water boil well

  • Add Gooseberry

  • Add 1/4 tsp of salt

  • Simmer the Gooseberry for 15 minutes

  • Gooseberry boil well

  • And Now switch off the flame


  • Drain the Gooseberry

  • Keep under the fan

  • Cut small sizes

Pickle powder making:

  • Take a pan

  • Add fenugreek and dry saute in few minutes

  • Saute well and then Transfer the plate

  • Add 1/4 tsp of mustard seed and dry saute in few minutes

  • Saute well and transfer the plate

  • Take a pan add oil and heat it

  • Saute the Asafoetida and until wait for golden brownish color

  • Saute well and transfer the plate

  • Crush the Asafoetida, fenugreek & mustard seed

Pickle making process:

  • Take a pan add oil and heat it

  • Add mustard seed and until wait for explosive

  • Add cutted Gooseberry (medium flame)

  • Add pickle powder

  • Add red chilli powder and 1 tsp of salt

  • In all ingredients mix equally

  • Add 1/4 cup of water

  • Close the vessel to boil in 15 minutes

  • Gooseberry cook well

  • Take a pan add gingelly oil and heat in 5 minutes (medium flame)

  • Pour the oil in Gooseberry pickle

  • Now switch off the flame

  • Serve it
