Ven pongal

Ven pongal is the simple dish and cook in 30 minutes. Rice, moong dal, green chilli, pepper, cumin seed is the main ingredients of this dish


INGREDIENTS :

200 gram rice
100 gram moong dal
1+1/4 tsp of cumin seed
4 green chilli (sliced)
Ginger (cut small cubic sizes)
1 tsp of pepper
1 +1/4 tsp of ghee
Pinch of turmeric powder
1+1/4 tsp of Salt
Water

PROCESS 1:

  • Take a vessel

  • Add rice

  • Wash the 2 or 3 times


  • Rice washed well

  • Then fill up the water

  • Add heat it in boil in 5 minutes (high flame)

  • Rice boil well

  • Change the medium flame

  • Rice boiling in 10 minutes

  • After 10 minutes

  • Rice cook well

  • Now switch off the flame

  • Close the vessel

  • Drain the rice

PROCESS 2:


  • Take a vessel add moong dal and heat it

  • Dry saute in 2-3 minutes

  • Pour 2 cup of water

  • Add turmeric powder

  • Add sliced ginger

  • Close the vessel

  • Moong dal boiling in 10 minutes

  • Moong dal boil well

  • Now switch off the flame

Process 3:

  • Take a pan add ghee and heat it

  • Add cumin seed and pepper and until for explosive

  • Add green chilli and curry leaves

  • Saute in few minutes

  • Saute well

  • Now switch off the flaame

Process 4:

  • Take a boiled moong dal and heat it (medium flame)

  • Add boiled rice

  • Add sauted green chilli, cumin seed, pepper and salt(medium flame)

  • Add 1/4 tsp of cumin seed

  • In all ingredients mix equally (medium flame)

  • pongal get ready

  • Now switch off the flame

  • serve it
